Used CD Stores Gutted by Florida Law

by Jay Allbritton
You Ain't No Picasso and Blognonymous both posted on the death of used CD stores in Florida, and as a local, I would like to add, "What are you people doing to us?"

This is what happens when business runs things. Keep voting Republican and one day soon, something you love--like affordable music--is going out the window.

No wonder people rip off the music industry. How much is a CD retailing for these days? And how much did it cost to make it?

Of course, for some, if the music cost a nickel and they could steal it, they still would. There has to be a middle ground between being ripped off and becoming a criminal. How about the eight dollar CD? How about record companies that invest in the culture. How about someone with some money in this business getting music back on television in a creative, useful way?

Why do I have to rely on a small confederation of blogs, linked right over there--> in our sidebar, to find decent new music?

And let me add, how much does the artist see from a CD? They are forced to tour like a dog to make a living.

I'm glad I have the Station Agent providing me with the best music currently being made.

The rest of you should be so lucky.

At least the crazy Republicans can't hit the independent used cd sellers on the internet...yet!
you can search all the online used cd stores in one go at www.usedcdsearch.com
