Last week Rage Against the Machine played what passes for Lollapalooza these days. In my day, it was a summer-long festival whose line up got worse as year passed. Anytime Rage saddles up it's a major cultural event. Hey Rage, how about an album? This band wrote some of the most incendiary heavy rock of all time during the Clinton Administration. Then they went on an eight year hiatus during the Bush Administration. Huh?
Well, whether or not political conditions are about to improve remains to be seen, but if a band ever could have fired up dissent when America desperately needed to wake up in 2003, 2004 and 2005, it was Rage.
Anyway, PeterBart.Com has coverage.
Here's "Sleep Now in the Fire".
